      The “anti-marketing attitude” is a primary reason that many lawyers do not succeed at rainmaking.   Every pushy salesperson, telemarketer or obnoxious advertiser heard over the years has further convinced the anti-marketer that the decision to reject selling is valid. 

             Mr. Kohn will discuss the coaching process of showing lawyers that selling can be appropriate and that they have the personality and the skills needed to make rain.  He will show that lawyers can overcome their distaste for marketing and actually grow to enjoy the process.  As they become more and more comfortable with rainmaking, they learn that marketing is not only profitable, but also intellectually stimulating and emotionally fulfilling.

 About the speaker:   Lawrence Kohn is president of Kohn Communications, a marketing and management support services firm for attorneys, CPAs and other professional services providers across the country.  Mr. Kohn is an active educator and author, and is also a Master Instructor at UCLA Extension.  For the past 17 consecutive years, Mr. Kohn has been a speaker at the annual convention of the State Bar of California.  He has been a guest speaker for a variety of other organizations including:  State Bar of Nevada; Association of Legal Administrators, National Association of Women Business Owners and dozens more
